Trump Pardons Dinesh D'Souza

Trump pardons D'Souza through tweet. This is amazing that the "law and order" party is suddenly "padon our people and our enemy's enemy" party. What is the rational for Dinesh D'Souza's pardon other that Trump and D'Souza both loathe Obama and both are conspiracy peddlers? So, this should start a trend for president and governor to pardon whoever they feel like pardoning.

This is abuse of presidential power.

The rationale was indicated in the President's tweet: "He was treated very unfairly by our government!". I have no idea what the history of D'Souza's case is, nor do I care. If he was being released from prison I'd be a bit more interested. Not sure this qualifies as an abuse of power, but I wouldn't argue with you if you thought this was purely motivated by their shared loathe for Obama. But still, I don't care much.

Low information people like you should refrain from commenting on public forums. Lucky for you that this forum is anonymous.

Anyway, Dinesh D'Souza was convicted for campaign finance violation by funneling money to a republican candidate through third parties. He pleaded guilty. He is not poor nor uneducated - he knew what he did and pleaded. He is also a well know conspiracy peddler against Obama. So, his pardon signals to all the law breakers that Trump has no shame to pardon guilty-as-f*ck Obama haters as long as they are on his side.

Lucky for you as well.

Translated: I don’t think Republicans should have to follow laws. I cheer partisan lawlessness.

This particular pardon is a signal to Cohen that he would be pardoned by Trump and he should not flip.

I don't particularly like Dinesh, and I agree that he did break the law, but this is one of those often-broken laws that gets prosecuted based on who is complaining. In this case, Hilary/Obama pushed for conviction and therefore it was done.

How did Obama/Hillary push for the conviction? Please show the proof.

This.

The man, an execrable human being, broke the law. That wasn’t politically motivated. Why do conservat8bes always think the law is out to get them? Like Trump’s probable upcoming “perjury trap.” Just don’t lie (or, you know, have people make political donations that you’re going to reimburse against the law).

I’m sure this pardon was in no way way a message to Cohen.

Now he is considering a full pardon for Martha Stewart and commuting the sentence of Rod Blagojevich. Since someone earlier was trying to figure out the rationale behind some of this, I may have just heard the answer from your favorite radio host Rush Limbaugh. He mentioned that Comey played a rule in both the Stewart and Blagojevich cases. Soooo maybe he is just trying to undo everything Comey has ever done, kinda like he is doing with Obama? Interesting....

These are people he identifies with because they were “treated unfairly” by the government — even without “infiltration”
