Preschool and Daycare Discussion
| I am looking for an economical part time (2-3 days, mornings) school experience for my 2 year old daughter, to begin immediately. We were hoping to enroll her in the DC Parks and Recreation cooperative play program, but there are no more openings. The $10,000 + tuitions I'm seeing at the Montessori schools are high for us. Does anyone have any recommendations for more affordable but yet still good quality schools? We live in the Chevy Chase, DC neighborhood. We're also looking for Spanish-English bi-lingual programs, but that may be a reach given our budget constraints. Thanks for your help! |
| I know of an immediate opening for a 3 full day spot for a 2yo (preferably younger) in downtown Bethesda. I believe the cost is around 975/month. I will post my email if you are interested. |
| Don't know if they still have space, but Caterpillar Co-op at Tenleytown is a bilingual Spanish-English program that might fit the bill. |
Not OP but I'm interested. My email is djp23@cornell.edu Thanks! |
| I would double check with DC Parks and Recreation. They might have an opening. |
| 12:07 - I'm 12:01 (prior cay). I just emailed you about the spot. |
|
PP - I am interested in hearing about that spot as well. My email is whosline2000@yahoo.com.
Thanks! |
| Check out playgroup in the park at glen echo. |
| I think there's still space for 2-year-olds for the Fall at CC United Methodist Church preschool. It's up Connecticut in Maryland. |
| Now co op in Colombia Height is opened. Come there directly. I have a daughter in there. |
My child's 2 y/o class at CCUMC is full, but it can't hurt to call and check. |
| We have a spot available at Chevy Chase Reggio. Reggio is a great approach for kids 2-5 years old. Visit www.ChevyChaseReggio or call 301-951-1885 for a tour. |

Will your child turn 3 by Dec. 31st? If so, you could call Bridges PCS:
http://bridgespcs.org/index.php?page=about It's an AMAZING program! Partially play-based, partially direct-instruction: it's such a happy environment AND your child doesn't even have to be potty-trained. (AND it's free for DC Residents!) They may still have some openings - (202)545-0515 |
Yes, you should doublecheck. I would recommend that you go to the coop centers directly. Sometimes there is a lag b/t the center and HQ. Also, you may want to post on the DCUM listserv about this - you may get a more immediate response then the self-selecting nature of this forum. FWIW, both my kids attended DCPR coop play programs and they loved it. |
