| Seven kids accepted for Sidwell third grade |
| My understanding is that many of them are siblings. |
| Doesn't PDS accept everyone? Not exactly as exclusive as sidwell. |
If true, this speaks all the more highly of the PDS program. But I'm guessing you didn't mean it that way. |
| And some years there are none. |
| PDS accepts everyone now. |
| Plenty of siblings don't get into sidwell. A real coup this year for primary day |
| How many kids in the grade? |
Errrr... |
| I always think of Sidwell as a DC school but one of their campuses is Bethesda, right? Assuming they get more Bethesda families than some other DC privates for this reason? |
Sidwell has a lot of MoCo families. About 50% in my kid's grade. |
| Wait so is Primary Day to credit or not for this? And what does the bethesda campus have to do with admissions standards? |
Wonder if that mix will change a lot when the lower school moves to the Washington campus. |
Yes, and that's why the PDS people are excited to have a good year with them. Where do PDS kids typically go? |
| Most of the PDS kids that got accepted were siblings. It was a real bummer for families with first borns as Sidwell didn't have room for them. Also, PDS basically gives no financial aid so it was likely they were also full pay families. At Sidwell's $40k a year that is a big deal. |
