Too bad Obama didn't sanction Russia this summer when he gave a press conference and told us all he personally told Putin to "cut it out."

But that wouldn't have suited Obama's current kabuki theater. His political machinations are pathetic and transparent.

Too bad Putin didn't cut it out. Actually, I think that the closeness in time to Trump's inauguration is pretty smart. The Russian sanctions will be fresh in everyone's minds, and so will Trump's betrayal of the US when he lifts them.

Did Obama betray the US when he did nothing, zero, to deal with said "hacking?"

The paid CTR shills are just trying to push a bullshit narrative.

You need to cut out the CTR BS. The campaign is over. Hillary is done. This is all about Cheeto.

No evidence has been shown by US intelligence that Russia hacked anything other than the DNC.

It's totally ok for the PEOTUS to admire a leader who chooses to quash dissent by murdering those who dare, right, Trumpkins?

I look at this entire thread and wonder what happened to civic pride and leadership. Are we just going to ignore 50+ years of anomisity towards Russia? Ignore the fact that if anyone else other the future POTUS was saying these things about a foreign leader as vile as Putin s/he would be strung up on espionage charges? I really don't get it, even if you support a political party, surely you support the integrity of your country first???

Their idol Reagan is probably getting ready to leave his grave at this point.

So let's recap:
Russia invades Crimea. No reaction.
Russian troops shoot down a civilian airliner. No reaction.
Russia sponsors a civil war in Ukraine. No reaction.
Russia bombs civilian targets in Syria. No reaction.
Russia hacks John Podesta's email. Outrage, sanctions, and a new Cold War.

Obama sure knows how to pick his "battles."

I agree. This will look extremely unpatriotic but Trump supporters won't care. They think everything Trump says and does is great.

Well Trump did say he could shoot and kill someone in the middle of fifth avenue and his supporters would still support him. So, I guess you're right.

The first summit meeting between US President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin goes well, with the two apparently forming a warm working relationship. Both say they have found the basis for a relationship of mutual respect. Bush describes Putin as straightforward and trustworthy, and says: “I looked the man in the eye.… I was able to get a sense of his soul.” No real progress is made on the issues that divide the two nations—particularly US plans to enlarge NATO and expand its defense capabilities—but Bush says the two sides are resolved to put aside Cold War-era attitudes and differences, and to move away from the concept of “mutually assured destruction” and towards “mutually earned respect.” [BBC, 7/16/2001]

How easily we forget...

yes how easy we forget that WE expanded NATO to Russia's borders despite promising not to do it. Not to mention going to Iraq against their objections.

I mean what is this country coming it if one can't even count a collective cold-war mindset 30 years later. Next thing you know Japanese and Germans will be allies. Unacceptable!

Is this your attempt at fake news because it seems you've not been paying attention. Or maybe you should send your children off to fight in Syria and Ukraine, which are geopolitically irrelevant to US interests.

U.S. engineered regime change in Ukraine. I guess that shows Ukraine is somehow relevant.

Christ almighty. As a shallow aside, how many fillers is Putin's face current sporting? I knew he looked waxy now, but he looks like a completely different person now.

Hillary loses election. Outrage, sanctions, and a new Cold War.

Fixed that for you. You left out a couple of things.

There's evidence of other hacking. But as far as you're concerned, it's ok as long as it's just the DNC. Does it bother you that they also hacked into our electrical grids.

So which hack is more damaging for the USA in your opinion - that of DNC or OPM? Just curious.

There's simply no evidence to support what you state. Podesta got phished, that's his dumbo fault.
