only one person not smiling. Maybe he is the one to be careful of in the future- (psycho?). |
They form a bell curve laying on its side?
How many statisticians do you know personally? How many are there in the world vs. total population? Are there even enough in the world to make any statistically significant conclusions?! |
How many of those black people are African American and not Africans or first generation Americans with African parents? Hmm. |
Yawn... |
First thing I noticed is they all seem young (which I guess of course the students themselves would be). |
All the boomer white American guys in maths, stats, econ and physics are being replaced by Indians, Chinese, Russian and Eastern Europeans, both male and female. Reason: your special snowflake does not have to do anything that is difficult. |
Plus the smart kids in these other countries test and get into great academic programs. In the USA, we leave the smart kids in the regular classrooms where they are bored. Only a few get to go to magnets. Then, whenever someone complains about how their kid should be challenged more in school, this poster brings out the old snowflake analogy to suggest that everyone is average and should go in the same classroom. |
The one in the lower right is a little hottie
I'd like to statiscally be a notch on her bed post. |
The emerging picture is that statiscally speaking, statisticians are all pretty ugly. |
The first thing I noticed was the only blond was wearing a bright pink shirt. |
This surprises you? |
Why is the original question still being answered?
This issue should be solved by now. Americans and their need to beat a dead horse. |
I was surprised that they were not all Asian males. I also expected to see more Jewish looking males. |
I thought the Asian male at the front and center was cute.
I also wondered whether he sought out front and center - i.e., he likes being in the spotlight? I then noticed he is virtually surrounded by girls. I then thought he might be gay? But he isn't dressed spiffy enought to be gay, right? So is he the A personality or the mascot? I think he's cute. That's basically my thought process. Circular thinker, I guess, which is why I bombed by Statistics class in college. LOL. |
