Police station transfers are not because of the risk of child abuse. It’s the risk a spouse will be violent with the other spouse. Overwhelmingly male problem. |
That means No. The men are more frequently abusers but less frequently parents. |
+1 OP just wants to sit on the beach and not have to worry about having a kid at all. Probably won't tell anyone that he even is a parent. Gets to live an entirely childfree life, meanwhile the kid is at home wondering what's wrong with them since parent wouldn't stay. You just know this poor kid is going to be f***ed up and have abandonment issues. |
Unemployment does not give enough money to cover rent, let alone utilities, toiletries, food (before you say food stamps they are meant to be a supplement, not to cover the cost of food), etc. And if you work even five hours they immediately lower the amount of unemployment you get. |
Is it an option to rent out room(s) in your house to have more of a financial cushion so that you could pick up anything local and still pay bills while you search for something better? |
You can go but then you travel to him for the breaks. It is not fair otherwise. |
This has nothing to do with this tread but either parent can be violent to each other. |
This. It happened in our family. STBX was threatening to kill the wife. |
The majority of cases in child welfare are female head of household. There are the statistics. Google them. Parents are the majority of the abusers, majority of the head of households are women for child welfare. |
I don't envy your position. You need to pay your bills. The same thing happened to my FIL. If that is the only job you can find, you take it and then travel to see your son on his breaks. I'm sorry you are in this difficult position and hope you find another job to keep you near your so. |
Right, but OP would also be eligible to recalculate child support, based on unemployment. So unemployment plus child support plus savings while OP keeps looking for a job that pays more than unemployment. |
I would not go on unemployment if I had an alternative. The gap looks bad on a resume and it is always easier to find a job when you have one. The Florida job does not have to be a permanent solution. |
Most judges will not recalculate child support. |
1. That’s not true, even in the DC area, but 2. I’m sure you just happen to know all about the family court system in Indiana. |
This post demonstrates a tenuous grasp of statistics, and that's being kind. |
