How do you make friends?

| I'm 45 and no friends except DH. Daughter is 9 and has friends but wants more. She asked. I don't know answer. I never had friends but that wasn't my thing. It is very important to her and she says one group of girls don't want to be her friend. She wants to know how she can try to be theirs. She does have lots of other friends. DD is high functioning autstic if that matters (not sure, only kid). |

| Maybe you could find a social skills group for her. One that teaches social skills but also helps answer questions like "when is someone a real friend" or "is this a good person to be friends with." Is there a chapter of the Autism Society near you? Sometimes they have good information about resources. You can also ask on the Special Needs board here. |
