Grey's Anatomy?

Looking for a new show to binge watch. Grey's is on Netflix. I typically love medical shows but never have watched this one. I know it's still on the air. Is it worth watching from the beginning? 13 seasons is a big commitment!

I watched a couple of seasons and then gave up on it.

If ER is an option, I suggest that instead. There have been many times where on Grey's, Meredith REALLY annoys me. And I don't find it funny. It can make me cry, but I want the full spectrum. ER delivers that.

Agree, ER is so much better.

Grey's is better to watch on a weekly basis. It's so much repetitive drama that I could see it getting boring a few seasons in.

I have watched Grey's from the beginning and still really like it. I liked ER too. I thought Nurse Jackie was great, but it's not for everyone. Chicago Med is another I started. I will show my age by saying I loved Trapper John MD!!

My daughter binge watched Grey's last year and didn't get tired of it. She was too young to watch with me when it started.

I thought the first 2-3 seasons of Grey's anatomy were truly terrific. Actually funny, and better then many of the alternatives listed. Trouble is that it just gets sillier and sillier with each season, and goes on and on... and is it still on the air? Don't know gave up after about season 6? So a tentative yes, just quit while you're ahead.

I agree. There are a couple of real standout episodes, but a lot of fairly repetitive melodrama that could get tiresome in a bingewatch. In terms of characters, the only ones that really interested me were Yang, Burke, Bailey and, to a lesser degree, Hunt.

OP here. Thanks all. I loved ER and have been wanting to watch it again from the beginning but sadly I have not found it available to stream anywhere. If anyone knows if/where it's available please tell! Sounds like I will pass on Grey's for now... Not a fan of Scrubs either

If you medical centered historical dramas and have Amazon Prime, you could try Mercy Street or Crimson Field (I think this is still on PBS).
London Hospital (AKA Casualty) is sometimes on Amazon Prime, but not currently.

Offspring is an Australian show set in modern times on Hulu that centers around an OB-GYN and her nutty family.

You should do what I do.

- Watch the first two or so episodes
- if it sucks, move on with your life
- if it doesn't, prepare to binge

I've discovered so many awesome shows this way. I just finished sense8, passed on lost girl after 1.5 episodes, and now binging on fringe.

I LOVED ER! Grey's isn't ER, but it's not trying to be like ER. I didn't start watching until season 4, binged the first 3 and really enjoy it. I still watch it in the afternoon's when it's on Lifetime.

I tried to get into Mercy Street but couldn't. Call the Midwife is much better IMO. It's like a cross between Downton Abby and Grey's.
