Chris Stevens Family responds to Benghazi Scandal

For all the people who thought all these money wasted on Benghazi investigation, please read the interview.

"One point that seems to be brought up again and again is the accusation that the attack was a response to the video. I could understand why that conclusion would be made, because it was right after the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Egypt. But, frankly, it doesn’t matter that that was the thinking, that night, about why the attack occurred. It’s irrelevant to bring that up again and again. It is done purely for political reasons.

It would be much more useful for Congress to focus on providing resources for security for all State Department facilities around the world—for increasing personnel, language capabilities, for increasing staff to build relationships, particularly in North Africa and the Middle East. I would love to hear they are drastically increasing the budget."

"She (Clinton) has taken full responsibility, being head of the State Department, for what occurred. She took measures to respond to the review board’s recommendations. She established programs for a better security system. But it is never going to be perfect. Part of being a diplomat is being out in the community. We all recognize that there’s a risk in serving in a dangerous environment. Chris thought that was very important, and he probably would have done it again. I don’t see any usefulness in continuing to criticize her. It is very unjust."

I hope you would agree that Chris Stevens family is the best people to speak for the issue. If you really respect what the Diplomats did, you would pay attention to what they say/feel and reject Trump/RNC/NRA smear campaigns making Benghazi an issue.

^^^ should have said "For all the people who thought all these money wasted on Benghazi investigation was justified, please read the interview."

It doesn't matter. They won't read it and if they do, they'll come up with anything they can to twist it, spin it, misrepresent it and outright LIE about it because it isn't about Benghazi, it's about Hillary Clinton, and it always has been.

Patricia Smith, mother of Sean Smith ripped Hillary Clinton: "Hillary is a liar. It's not the time to move on"

Shouldn't we listen to the mother of the victim?

I forgot to mention presenting outlier opinion as consensus.

Hit "Submit" too soon by mistake - meant to note with all due respect to Mrs. Smith.

Cite a source please. I don't believe you aren't making it up.

Looked it up myself. Her son was a democrat and disagreed with mom's politics. Let's do a debate between Smith's mom and the other family members. I'm sorry for her loss but she doesn't exactly explain in any coherent way why she hates Clinton so much.

I think anyone who loses a child wants someone to be held accountable. And yes, the government made mistakes. But these four people chose hazardous jobs in a hazardous part of the world. They know they face real risks.

+1

I have sympathy for the grieving family, but no amount of answers will ever suffice a grieving parent. Their pain is immense, and all they want is their loved one back. I get that, but their jobs came with known, dangerous, and accepted risks; nothing is perfect and sometimes tragedies just happen.

its understandable that Chris Steven's family would feel this way, he was a close personal friend of Hillary and supported her politics. Unfortunately, there are other victims who were there to protect him whether they supported Hillary and her politics or not, and given the statements from their families, they were not Hillary supporters, or Obama. They lost their lives too and it does matter and it DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE. A family totally sympathetic to Clinton and her campaign are just not credible, we will not forget that she and Obama swept this under the rug to protect a presidency. Fifty percent of this Country will not sweep it under the rug, and if it were your son on that roof that very long night, you would not forget either.

They called it an act of terror and this administration has arrested Abu Khattala who masterminded the attack is charging him with terrorism. That's not sweeping things under the rug. Your desire to spin initial confusion about the motive for the attack (and Abu Khattala himself linked it to the film) as a cover-up is baseless.

That's what I find troubling is Hillary supporters never put themselves in the shoes of the victims. It's not just she lied to their families but she and Obama didn't send any help for 7 long hours. I just can't imagine what horrible last few hours those four people endured. And Hillary minions have the gall to say that's what the four victims signed up for and Sean Smith's mother was playing politics??

You mean Panetta didn't send help. The "help" at issue was DOD resources. And every report has concluded they could not have been deployed in time.
