Great Wolf Lodge?

Money is tight this year. Thinking about taking our only vacation this year to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg with husband and two kids ages 12 & 14.

I was thinking about doing a Wednesday - Saturday mid July. Maybe spend 1 day at Busch Garens to enjoy some roller coasters. Just wanted to get some options from people who have been to GWL. THANKS!

GWL is great for 2 days one night, but I wouldn't stay there any longer than that or you'll die from boredom. All of the other activities are for much younger kids. The rooms are okay but not great and they are quite expensive for what they are. I wouldn't consider using GWL as a hotel where you come and go to other attractions. You might have a better time if you find a better hotel outside of GWL and then visit the GWL water park during the day. Does Busch Gardens have a water park? Your teenagers might find that much more entertaining than GWL altogether.

The best part of Great Wolf Lodge is the indoor water park. We went in the dead of winter and had a good time. I wouldn't bother in the middle of the summer. Find a larger outdoor park and stay at a place near there.
