What on earth are you talking about? The only "wrinkles" I saw were when she raised her eyebrows. Everyone's head wrinkles then!

I think it looks fine and good for her for wearing her hair the way she wants to instead how someone else tells her she should. All women should have the courage to live for themselves.

People who do this story of stuff to their bodies are not the most well adjusted and mentally sound.

In general I agree, but I don't think the platinum is so odd-looking that it's indefensible as a fashion choice. I could see a stylist advocating for her current hairstyle.

Actually, there is evidence that she was not allowed to leave Monaco during the wedding events and was, in so many words, forced to marry him.

But really, how? What would’ve happened to her if she refused? We’re they threatening her life? I don’t understand. She could’ve gone to the press or any number of things.

I think it's earlier in this thread that someone said his family was providing financial support for hers, which needed it. You can declare that she should have told them to suck it up and go broke, and gone broke with them, but Albert did have leverage.

Wouldn't she have been able to get lucrative sponsorship deals as an extremely photogenic Olympian? That would have kept her family reasonably comfortable. She could also have moved on to a more patron/husband. One she liked better. I just don't get the financial coercion argument for the marriage when he face and body could well have offered her alternate avenues to comfort.

DP. Don’t know about her family. But there’s no way as someone without a single Olympic medal in swimming she would have lucrative sponsorship deals. It’s not that kind of sport (for women) and she is nowhere near an accomplished enough athlete to be the only exception. Most elite athletes end up adrift and not particularly financially stable when their careers are done.

If she can maintain her health inside a county she fled for over a year, then yes. Otherwise, no.

I really think she had an eating disorder and mental breakdown. I'm glad she got help. She looks much better.

There are other events. Was she the top swimmer in South Africa? Did she win something at the Commonwealth games?

She looks so absolutely miserable. Why won’t she leave her husband?? Yes, I understand that she would not get custody of her kids, but she would have visitation rights. I would rather see my mother periodically, but free and happy(er), than be a witness to this misery.

That dress! She’s basically coming out of the closet. Probably queer?

She's 45. It seems highly unlikely. I think she's just a normal size 45 year old woman. Here are a couple pictures of her at the Coronation.

Sometimes I wonder what drives her choice of outfit…

Ugh, he's gross

Wasn’t she institutionalized in a different country until recently?
