I have a friend in her 30's with a suspended driver's license. She lives in the city so she does not drive. In her 20's, she racked up a ton of credit card debt and just decided to stop paying them. She disconnected her phone number and moved so the debt collectors could not hound her.
She has met a wonderful guy online. They've been dating for a few months. She is afraid he will be turned off by her irresponsible 20's. She can't rent an apartment without a consignor. |
| Tell your "friend" that she can fix this now before he finds out how much of a deadbeat she is. |
| If her irresponsibility was limited to her 20s why does she have a suspended license in her 30s? |
Also, I would not continue to date her if I found out. That's a financial disaster I wouldn't want to be dragged into. |
|
If she is attractive to him, and seems to have things together now, he'll probably be willing to overlook it. I think this is a case where men tend to be more forgiving.
|
| How many years has it been and do guys consider her hot? Also most guy do not do a credit check before marriage...I know we are stupid that way |
This. As long as she is not actively asking him for money he likely won't care (and frankly, maybe not even then). |
| If credit checks start happening before dating can ensue then I'm screwed. |
Cute and fun to be with? She's good. |
A fine that she has never paid to the DMV perhaps? To the OP's question.....are the debts still on the credit report? Does the woman have a stable job? |
I think an unpaid speeding ticket caused her license to be suspended. She thought it would be simple enough to pay the speeding ticket but I guess she needs to go to court and get a lawyer. I am not entirely sure. She carries around her passport as her id. |
| Turn and walk away. Don't look back. |
Her credit is bad. I want to say it is 480. She tried to get an apartment but was denied. Her mom tried to cosign for her but the mom also has bad credit. Her uncle ultimately cosigned for her. For her last apartment, she had to pay 6 months upfront because of her bad credit and it was a sublease. Her mom asked all her relatives for money. |
| No license = alcoholic. |
lol she is not an alcoholic. I once worked with a woman who did not drive. She refused to drive even when we offered her a company car. She spent a small fortune on cabs. It never occurred to me that she got her license revoked. |
