Whoa. Sunil did a good job of interrogating Shebra on who should be accountable for Beidleman and the investigation failures. Shebra's answers weren't great.

Shebra was responsible for the exorbitant $1.3 million pay-out. Hold her feet to the fire on that.

Who are the most mainstream candidates who will focus on core education, financial accountability, and reducing central office bloat?

No incumbents please - they've already proven themselves ineffective and signed off on bad paper on many occasions. I'm looking for who will reduce systemic corruption and dishonesty.

Recommendations?

are great resources for you. Much better than anonymous randos on DCUM.

Serious question - what is being done to educate Montgomery county voters on the incumbents, new candidates, how the primary works, completing ballots, apple ballot etc.?

You should have received a voter's guide in the mail with statements from each candidate who participated. Citizen groups are also hosting debates and discussions, with the gold standard being the League of Women Voters.

But voter education is really to educate people about their ability to vote, how to register, where to vote, how to get an absentee ballot. Finding out about candidates and platforms really falls on the voter themselves.

Are Spanish and Amharic speaking voting educators doing so in various MoCo communities?

The guide goes out in both English and Spanish paper copies, with information inside on how to access the guide in other local languages including Amharic. In primarily Amharic or Tigrinya speaking communities, there are signs in community centers (libraries) as well as cafes and other businesses with QR codes.

You think that’s bad, then you should go back and see what Laura Stewart was saying about the situation on twitter when it all went down

I just watched the Moderately MoCo forum. Sharif Hidayat is exactly the candidate we need. He called out all of the incumbents BS. He is a father of two MCPS elementary kids. He is a retired police officer that solved Hate crimes earning the ADLs shield award. He solved so many crimes involving financial fraud against senior citizens and the mentally challenged. He will be my candidate for At Large.

Candidate Hidayat just announced that he pledged to donate his entire $25,000.00 salary from the BOE to students that need extra tutoring. I’ve never heard of a board member even offering that before!

Absolutely not.

When Moms4liberty is in the audience clapping for an unqualified candidate no.

He’s a bully. All he does is yell and scream.

What qualities does he have for the boe zero

Buying his way in is not a solution.

He has no qualifications.

His hate spews loud and clear.

The students that will get that $25,000.00 will think it was a solution when they get the extra tutoring to succeed and graduate. Graduation rates have dropped with all the experienced incumbents. The incumbents have to go.

Another PP, reposting (again) this helpful forum put on by the League of Women Voters, who are professionals who do this for every election, and not for reasons of self-aggrandizement or promoting their brand.

Posting this again.
