I think my goldfish may be depressed.

either that or she has swim bladder disease. She's not the bouncy, upbeat girl I once knew.

OP again -- I also just read that her problem could be constipation. Has anyone ever successfully overcome this problem in a goldfish?

Maybe it's menopause.

Have you had her checked out for swine flu? You might want to see if she can get fitted for a mask, apparantly this thing might mutate like crazy. It's better to be safe and take precautions.

Have you tried varying her food and the arrangement of the plants in her bowl? There are some good feng shui for goldfish books. Maybe put her bowl in front of Spongebob from time to time. Everyone loves Spongebob. As a last resort, maybe sprinkle a little prozac in her water.

Sorry you are going through this! ((((Hugs))))

You definitely should check if her friend got the same cell phone case that she got from Etsy.

It happened to me andiIf it was me in your place I'd send my DH's beta fish to that B!tc*'s bowl and eat out her head.

I ordered a hand made, exclusively for my goldfish and the neighbor got the same one for her clown fish.

That jealous whale - she's so fat!

Whatever.

Good luck darling I feel for you!

Kisses!

OK you guys, very funny comments. but I was being serious! I really do think my goldfish is depressed, or constipated. or both, I guess one could bring about the other.

15:21 here. Sorry to laugh. And sorry, I don't know anything about goldfish.

Try a tiny bit of frozen pea for constipation. Or you can fast for a few days until it finally um..unclogs itself.
If it was swim bladder it would not be able to swim properly. It would constantly turn on it's side. I went through this with one of my bettas.

Maybe she is coming down with ick or some other fish disease.

How about putting a little prozac or some other anti-depressant in her bowl? And in terms of the constipation, a bit of fiber-all might be good.

What are you feeding her? Try some live brine shrimp, blood worms or dark green leafy lettuce.

Maybe an acupuncturist can help. Plenty have sworn my doggie acupuncture on this board.
