Gaithersburg HS 9th grader (and a refugee) arrested for Montgomery Village murder

You know all those unaccompanied kids fleeing Honduras and giving refugee status and placed in random high schools all over MCPS last year? Well one of them, a 9th grader, was just arrested for murdering a 22yr old found dead in the woods in Montgomery Village. All gang related. This article makes me very nervous. My kids are in a high school very close to Gaithersburg.

And since Honduran police just arrested 5 Syrians who produced fake passports yesterday - all heading to US by means of saying they are a Honduran refugees, there needs to be concern. I just hope they aren't missing anyone and no one has or is going to slip thru the cracks.

Well according to some on dcum schools can't be great unless they are predominately high/middle income, so I doubt American schools will be great again. Were they ever in our lifetime?

Personally I'm a lot more worried about a homegrown whack job with multiple weapons blowing up my kid's school a la Columbine or Newtown. More likely than a rogue Syrian killing them.

What is "a high school very close to Gaithersburg"? Also, are your children in a gang?

Well of course people are worried about homegrown people but that doesn't mean we just not care what type of refugees are being allowed into our country and our kid's schools.

+1 You would think that after Columbine, Aurora, Sandy Hook, our leaders would be clamoring for tighter gun control like they are for shoring up our borders and not allowing in refugees, but nope. They're ok with American wackos getting access to guns to shoot our kids, but illegals/refugees with dark skin who are involved in gang killings? Nope. They are apparently more dangerous to everyday citizens than US born white people shooting American kids.

She means Wootton and they are not in a gang but they buy weed from people in a gang.

It's ok if it doesn't stop school shootings. I'd be very happy with just reducing school shootings.

Depends on how they control it. If they control it like the way the UK does, then, I'm thinking yes, it will stop or at least reduce these crazy shootings because that's what happened in the UK. They had a mass shooting, and the gov't put tight gun control in place. Do you hear about school shootings in the UK? Nope.
