What is up with that Kane thread?

I"m nt asking Jeff if there's sock puppeting going on - this is more of a general query of what the heck is that thread doing exploding that way? The nearest thread I've seen just blow up is the bobcat one, though that seemed to be a small group of regular DCUMers who exploded that. The Fire in NW blew up for a bit, and attract(ed) new people to DCUM. The Kane thread, though, man. I check DCUM every couple of hours, and every time I do there are at least another 10 pages (which means 150 messages every couple of hours).

I'm a Kane sometimes listener, and I get he's a "personal" local celebrity - someone you feel you know more than other celebrities. And divorce is a hot topic. But this is beyond all reason. What is your theory for why it's so hot?

As far as I can tell -- and I haven't looked into it too deeply -- a bunch of new users came DCUM via Google and Facebook in order to participate in that thread. In addition to a large number of posters, there is an extraordinary number of lurkers who simply refreshing throughout the day.

I had previously only heard of Kane due to other threads here about him. I've never heard his show and wouldn't even know where to find it on the radio. So, this whole thing is a surprise to me.

What kills me about the Kane thread is how it just goes to another after Jeff starts the new one like nothing happened. Nobody even comments on the fact that this is, was, and continues to be unprecedented. Crazy.

No, I haven't read it but as a DCUM devotee, i watch it like a freak show. I hope it helps fund this site too.

I don't know what your threshold is on publicly excoriating someone, even a public figure) but it feels like what has to be more than 600 pages of trash talking has to be coming close.

I have removed a lot of anti-Dani posts and will continue to remove posts that get overly personal or abusive. The problem is that thread moves too fast to stay on top of it. I'll try to do better, however.
