Cuban and Trump have had their differences - both have said nasty things about the other - but he expressed his admiration for Trump. Some excerpts:
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban had nothing but praise for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, calling the real estate developer "probably the best thing to happen to politics in a long, long time" on Tuesday via his CyberDust app. "I don't care what his actual positions are," Cuban wrote, according to Business Insider. "I don't care if he says the wrong thing. He says what's on his mind. He gives honest answers rather than prepared answers. This is more important than anything any candidate has done in years." Cuban, who said he voted for Obama in 2008, said he appreciates Trump's attitude and has little concern for his policies............... Cuban says Trump's willingness to withstand the scrutiny that comes with running for political office was admirable............................. "Up until Trump announced his candidacy, the conventional wisdom was that you had to be a professional politician in order to run," Cuban wrote. "You had to have a background that was politically scrubbed. In other words, smart people who didn't live perfect lives could never run." ........................... "Politics and in particular Republican politics are such a mess that every comment that comes out of a candidates mouth seems like it was sanitized by consultants in order to appease those that will vote in Republican primaries - except for Trump." BTW, the same can be said for HRC and most of the other Republican candidates: all their statements and responses to questions come across as totally scripted and sanitized. Huckabee tried to do a Trump on the Iranian deal but made a hash of it. http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/28/politics/mark-cuban-donald-trump/ |
So a loudmouth billionaire who doesn't care about trumps policies likes trump. Imagine that. |
Mark Cuban is an idiot. Does anyone confuse him with being a smart guy, ever?
|
Exactly. Cuban appears to see politics as entertainment and Trump is entertaining. When you have enough money to isolate yourself from the impact of policies, policies don't matter. |
And here is an example: http://www.salon.com/2015/07/29/hillarys_bizarre_keystone_dodge_once_again_she_plays_into_sanders_hands/ |
OP - I totally agree with Cuban's statements.
Trump is beholden to no one. He is unscripted. He speaks his mind. It is so refreshing. I am so tired of the boring, scripted, safe, boring pols. Hillary is the worst offender. Hillary is not going to win because of this. |
There is a reason that politicians are more careful about their words. If politicians could shoot off their mouth, refuse to apologize, and get praised for it, they would all be doing it. Trump has spent most of his life chewing people out without repercussions. And because he's a billionaire, it all works out. Everybody around him is his employee in one form or another. But in politics, the public is in charge. Make one misstatement and it will be quoted back to you for the rest of your career. 47%, spread the wealth, legitimate rape, I didn't inhale. That shit stays with you forever. If he loses his cool on the wrong person at the wrong time, he's screwed. |
Excellent way to evaluate a potential future President, Mark. Or else you mean that Trump is not a serious candidate, so it doesn't really matter what he says or believes. |
As a Dem I do worry that Hillary could beat Jeb but lose to someone fresh, but I also think that pretty much there's not much more anyone can say about Hillary and anyone probably will *start off* looking better than her just for that reason. |
Most intelligent people have mastered the art of thinking before they speak. Trump has not. His crutch is resorting to referring to people in simplistic generalities such as terrible, terrific, tough, smart, dumb, loser, etc. |
Trump has racked up one of the biggest campaign debts of any of the current candidates, so he's beholden to someone. Also, he's beholden to prospective voters. |

America would certainly be an even more dangerous place, and one with even worse relations around the world, if we elected someone like Trump, who has no filter. The man does not know when to shut his mouth. |
Trump is impulsive and a loose cannon. A bull in a china shop. I can definitely see him causing far more damage than solving problems. |
I can tell you one thing - Trump would not tolerate other nations' bullshit. |
