Since about 2 in 5 births are to unmarried women, and millennials aren't getting married at the same rate as previous generations, I'd say that if something's killing American marriage, it's people deciding, for whatever reason, not to get married.

Yes and white people have an unemployment rate of 7% and make up 40% of overall welfare recipients (Mostly all single white uneducated mothers).

I could not agree more with this article. I work with children and see first hand the damage being a parent can do to a person's marriage. I see so many child-obsessed mothers and bored, lonely fathers. It has made DH and I forego having children in favor of a healthy marriage. Who needs that stress?

Some people aren't balanced. It's great that you are able to see yourself in other people who can't strike a healthy balance. You are saving yourself a lot of misery. However, there are also many married parents who can both raise children and still maintain intimacy.

I'm a minority, have never gotten government benefits as a single mom, and haven't married the live-in boyfriend even though we've lived together for over 20 years.
