a hairbrush just changed my life

Just passing this along to anyone who might be in the same boat. I bought the Wet Brush from Target the other day. It advertises itself as a pain free detangling hairbrush.

I am a FTM, and I went on a "Target Vacation" to buy a hairbrush bc I actually broke mine brushing my hair. My super-fine hair has been shedding post-partum, and tangling horribly as a result. It's been a vicious cycle where I actually dread showering and then brushing my hair bc it is so tangled and I lose hundreds of strands when I brush it, and I feel like I am tearing my hair out of my head. It got so bad that I stopped showering for a day or two at a time, then I felt really gross and bad about myself, and baby and I weren't even leaving the house.

Anyway, I saw this Wet Brush at Target, and I was so excited to try it, that I tried it in the parking lot - and it was awesome - it combed right through my knotted up hair - no pain. Now I'm back in the game! I don't dread the daily shower and comb through anymore.

So, that's how a $10 brush changed my life. I have really thin hair, so I cannot comment on how it will handle thick hair. I have a baby boy, but if I had daughters with long, tangled hair, I would absolutely get this. I also grabbed the Goody ouch-free brush but haven't tried it yet.

Happy brushing, hope this helps someone!

Here you go - I posted an Amazon link bc there are over 1000 reviews (only a couple reviews on Target.com). It comes in a couple of different sizes and shapes.

I love the Wet Brush too, OP. It's a game changer for tangly hair!

I just got one too - perfect for my fine, highlighted, damaged hair that is basically like cotton candy when wet. Also perfect for DD's coarse, curly, plentiful toddler hair.

I thought you weren't supposed to brush wet hair.

Op have you ever tried conditioner?

Hi thanks for the snark! What's conditioner? Lol of course I use conditioner and would also try to comb/brush with conditioner in my hair but still had a lot of uncomfortable snarls and shedding.

I just got that for my 4 year old recently. It works really well on her god-awful tangles. Haven't tried it myself.

I have 3 girls -- all with different types of hair. This brush works great for each of them. Love it.

Has anyone used both this brush and the Aveda paddle brush? I currently use the Aveda brush and interested in hearing a comparison.

Yes! The Wet Brush was advised by my hairdresser for DD and me. We love it. Super popular in our house.

Op here. Ok so I tried the Goody ouchless as well and did a tangle-by-tangle comparison. The wet brush was slightly better. Not enough difference that I'd return the goody (I will keep it as a spare in my car) but enough of a difference that I'd buy the wet brush over the goody.

Apparently detangling brushes are a niche product and there are several competing ones out there. I cannot believe I just found out about this at almost 40 years of age. I'm getting them for my step daughters as well. I love when things work.
