Tragic death of Grace Mann

I didn't see a thread on this yet. What a horrible tragedy for a local family.

I'm sure her family would prefer that we *not* have a thread on this.

possibly. I am so sad for her family, though. Senseless loss.

Can anyone she'd some light on the nature of relationships of the roommates in that rental house?

Sad.

There are a lot of killings, disappearances in Virginia. What's up with that ?

People should really invest some time in learning the back story. And how to avoid similar events.

I don't understand what you are saying. She was killed by one of her roommates, not a boyfriend. It's kind of hard to avoid roommates at that age.

That's exactly why I'm interested in the NATURE of their relationship. It OBVIOUSLY went beyond sharing the same roof.

She appears to have been a promising young woman who was absolutely cherished by her family. This is just so sad. And the very few details about what happened to her are chilling. My heart goes out to her family as they try to grasp what has happened to this beloved girl.

I agree. What did they know about the roommate before letting him room with them? How did the connect with him? What did the school know about him? Lots of unanswered questions and a horrific tragedy. Maybe it could have been avoided. Maybe not. I think it is important to learn from tragedies so they are not repeated.

We don't know. I have heard next to nothing about the accused.

Perhaps we should be asking smarter questions. Like the backstory that hasn't yet been reported.

It is strange that a group of young college students would have a 30 year old roommate (regardless of whether or not he was a student himself).

Bingo. The media obviously isn't giving us the whole story here.

I'm the OP and I thought about not posting because I didn't want it to get ugly. Ultimately I wanted people to know about this very promising young girl and what happened to her so that maybe something similar could be prevented.
