A cold is different than HIV and syphilis...

It’s not “a cold” to everyone, and part of the reason it’s now mostly “a cold” is that people have gotten the vaccine or infection.

Syphylis is NBD, totally treatable
these days, right? And people live for years and years with HIV without it progressing.

What’s your position on polio and measles?

Right. So why are you masking to avoid a cold? Did you do that before covid, or did you decide that it wasn't worth the cost and discomfort?

DP. Because Covid gave me a heart attack and that’s what changed how I react to all viruses now. Original Covid had clotting issues even in young people. It changed a lot of people forever.

Covid definitely gave you anxiety.

I am most intrigued by all the left wing student protesters virtuously wearing covid masks on their protests, often the only kids on campus still in masks. Which tells me a lot.

Sounds like you are the one who has mental health issues.

I didn’t do it pre-COVID, but since now my dad’s being recommended for a double lung transplant I sure as hell will do anything to prevent him from catching anything.

It sounds like it's a little late to start worrying about health.

Indeed it did--but mostly due to unnecessary lockdowns and 18 months of school closures.

Because it is still killing people. My elderly neighbor could not be vaxxed but started going out and about again b/c people like you equated it to a cold. She's dead now (within the last year), having picked up Covid at church. And she was elderly but spry and healthy for her age. Walked daily. Still had her faculties, etc. But, she's gone now.

Lots of things kill people. Especially elderly people. Are you under the impression we'd live forever if people would just mask?

A little too on-the-nose?

That is so depressing. Very thankful to live in a place where no one masks at schools or daycares.

Omg! How dare someone else do something I personally disagree with! How ever will I go on!

Funny how the pro-mask people didn't take this position four years ago. Talk about unhinged.

And don't start with "it was irresponsible not to mask pre-vaccine, etc etc." Fauci and the experts knew all along that cloth and surgical masks were ineffective and simply theater to make it look like we were doing something. They also knew that even N95 masks are ineffective when worn repeatedly by non-medical personnel who aren't properly trained and fitted. These are the same people who let their screaming anxiety force school districts to keep children home from school for no reason for *years.* Their anxiety and mental illness dramatically impacted the lives of others. It is important to recognize this for what it is and be on guard against it.

Give it a rest. It's 2024. No one is asking YOU to mask. Stop projecting your post-pandemic trauma onto others that choose to mask for whatever reason. You are the one who is unhinged.

Try completely without compassion or tact. Goodness you are dense and awful.

Do you think that all people who have heart attacks and resultant heart damage have “anxiety”? Seriously, this is your claim?

You're not refuting the accuracy, however.

How well do you think that cancer will respond to "compassion or tact"?

But definitely, focus on the masking. That'll do it.

There are absolutely people that want to bring back mandatory masking in public venues.

I mean large people gathering in groups is a good enough reason as any to wear a mask. That said, in the case of student protests the main point of the masks is to hide half the face (especially from facial recognition software) and make tracking/prosecution more difficult.

It's been a thing among Asian protestors (esp Hong Kong) for ages, it just took covid for Americans to catch on.

No, I think they have heart disease, usually from a combination of obesity and lack of exercise, sometimes compounded by smoking.
