I was wondering the same thing. I'm 5'9", weigh 135-140 and wear an 8/10. I haven't worn a 4 or 6 in, oh, 20 years (when I weighed 20 lbs less!)

I am also 5'-9", weigh 135 lbs, but wear a size 2/4 (size 27 in jeans). Other people tell me I am thin. I agree with PPs who said that different body types carry weight differently.

I am 5'4" and am 140, but I wear a sizes 2/4 in pants (I have a bit larger than normal rear-end & muscular thighs & calves for my height) and 23 waist with 29 hips and I often feel I am unproportionate, as well as a small-medium shirt.

That is my height and weight. I consider myself average. Big around many of my friends, thin around the general population. I am athletic and definitely not small-boned - generally wear a 6. I feel best about myself at about 135, but it takes a lot of discipline for me to get there. 140 appears to be my natural weight.

So someone that is 5'8 and 120lb can wear the same clothes as someone who is 5'5 and 145lb? Seems unlikely.

I'm 5'9" and fluctuate between 115-120 (at which I look my best). 140 would be uncomfortable for me but it is definitely in the normal range and I don't think others would see me/see you as overweight.

Agree

On my frame, that would be thin.

I'm 5'9" and at 145 I wore a 10. At 135 I wear a 6, at 133 I fit into large 4s.

And to answer the OP, at 140 I'd feel on the smaller side of average. At 133 I feel on the larger side of thin.

Thin. I'm 5'6" and 155 and I could stand to lose maybe 10 pounds. Depends on your bone structure.

Seriously, the weight you see on the scale doesn't matter as much as your body composition. Please read this post carefully - you'll be stunned by the evidence in front of you.

5'7" and 137 and I wear a size 4 usually. I go to the gym 5 days a week feel very toned. During college I was between 108 and 120 and I looked like kate moss thin. Glad those days are over...

Me exactly. I should weigh 135.

140 could be quite thin or not, depending on muscle.

It all depends on build. I am 5'9" and at my lowest weighed 145. I had 14% body fat (cycled 30 miles a day in the Blue Ridge Mountains). I also wore a size 6. I cannot believe your post make me feel huge! I could never be less than 145!

weight means nothing. i've been the same number for years (give or take a few pounds) - i used to wear a size 4/6 7 or so years ago and today i wear a solid 8, sometimes 10.
