Carpet beetles ?

No,probably meal worms. They can come in on any grain product, including nuts, rice and pet food. You will have to pull out all your food items, look for signs of infestation and throw away. Only then can the company come and do a good spray.

I found this forum when via google.com. I had some guests this past weekend. They stayed in our guest bedroom near the front door of the house. As they were packing up to leave Sunday morning, one of them spotted a cluster of little white worms underneath a pile of dirty clothes on the hardwood floor in the bedroom. We picked them up and looked around in the vicinity. We saw more outside the bedroom on a floor mat right inside the front door. We thought they looked like maggots. But there was no food in the bedroom or around the entry way. I have not seen any flies inside the house. The ceiling light in the bedroom is not above where we discovered the maggots. Nor is the ceiling light by the front door. This had never happened to us in the past. Our guests went to an event where they played Frisbee in a park the day before we discovered the maggots. Is it possible that the fly eggs got carried into the house on the bottom of their shoes and were hatched once they got inside the house?

We had maggots in the trash this week, after we disposed of food we lost during the power outage, and then raccoons overturned the can and tore the bags open.

Disgusting. And that's exactly what they looked like. (I blasted them with vinegar. I hope I got them all.) (I know I'll have to scrub the can but I'm waiting until it's been emptied this week.)

They are carpet beetles, Meal moth larva or maggots.

Google images and check which ones is it.

Thank you for posting this. Thought they were mealworms. We got chestnuts at a farm a couple weeks ago. Been sitting on my counter.

Beside myself with disgust! I found maggots and it took me awhile to figure out where they were coming from. BTW, I'm not usually freaked out about bugs as many people! I'm a gardener and cherish beneficial bugs including my beloved earth worms!
I had just done quite a bit of cleaning and had borrowed my mother's steam cleaner. First I wanted to use it on my area rug. After cleaning under the rug thoroughly and vacuuming, I got out the steam cleaner.
Approximately a month prior to this I let my (young) adult son take the steam cleaner to his friend's (more like a family friend to us), so he could move out of his apartment and get back his deposit! I was unaware that this young man not only had a small inside dog, but worse, he did not vacuum before using the steam cleaner!!!
While I was steam cleaning the rug, more than half a dozen grey hairballs emerged from under it. I picked them up, saying a few choice words along the way, and continued. I emptied the tank of dirty water into the toilet, then set it down to flush and clean the toilet. I put the tank back on the steam cleaner and was getting the attachments and such ready to use it on my recliner. The steam cleaner sat on the area rug (in a small seating area by my stairs and near the kitchen). About an hour or less later I started finding random maggots! The first couple were less than a foot from the steam cleaner. Then I found a few in my restroom. Then another, then another.... Seems like they were pretty spread out after a dozen or more! Finding some appear from what seemed like nowhere! After being disgusted and distraught because of my cleaning efforts, I ended up in tears finding one every half hour or so. Finally it occurred to me that a fly had layed its eggs somewhere in the steam cleaner. I remembered that I had dumped the dirty water in the bathroom and set down the tank on the floor. I had spread them out, and they were coming from the steam cleaner! I cleaned my whole rug with a steam cleaner full of fly maggots!!! ?
