Does anyone else think Pandora bracelets are tacky ?

This exactly.

Maybe not tacky, but ugly.

Agree!

My mother in law keeps buying me things for one (including the starter bracelet). I really think it's ugly, not "me," and yet feel guilty about the $$ she is spending on it. I feel like it's too late to say anything.

Are they even sterling? I have a collection of old fashioned charm bracelets that I have collected. They can be beautiful. I love this one...

I also am mystified that anyone buys Vera Bradley stuff.

SAHM here - wouldn't be caught dead wearing one.

my mother in law likes them - she likes other collectibles-type things, like those perfect moments ceramics, etc. i think they appeal to sentimental people whose families are their main focus, and who aren't really into clothes or fashion.

my mil also wears grandma sweatshirts and that kind of thing. i dunno - i guess i assume most people who like pandora bracelets would also be comfortable in a grandma sweatshirt, but that might be drawing too many conclusions.

(i love my mil - she's awesome - but we don't share aesthetic taste.)

I have one. My mother started it for me. Not my favorite style, but I wear it because she wanted to give it to me. And she keeps adding charms. So what. Maybe be nice?

Pandora charms are sterling and/or 14k gold.

There was a thread almost exactly like this in the past year. I am a lawyer, and I think I am generally classy (but doesn't everyone?). I wear a Pandora with gold and silver beads (no color/murano). I love it. I don't care if you like it or think it is tacky. Some of the beads have meaning to me (one for each of my children, one for my birthday, etc.). I think for every trend there will be people who love it and people who hate it. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

My sister is an attorney as well and she has one. I think it is an easy gift for her husband to give her. My sister seems to love it - her husband has good taste and her beads are not cutesy. She is well known in her field and travels all over the US and Canada giving seminars on her field of expertise. Guess what - they keep inviting her even though she wears a Pandora bracelet and (gasp) is letting her hair go gray!
