Sen. Ted Cruz - what do Republicans think?

At Princeton, he wanted to pretend to be a WASP but now it is expedient to masquerade as LATINO. His big personal issue is that he cannot be president (born Canada) -- his ego is that large.

One term wonder unless he smarts up soon.

Ted Cruz is a bully and an imbecile.

If that Princeton admission officer who read Cruz' file is still around, he'd better consider early retirement, fast. Letting Cruz in should be a career ender.

even if cruz is a cunt, letting in a future US senator is precisely who the admissions staff at T25 schools want to let in.

If he's not native born, then he's not constitutionally eligible to be president. It would be best if he considered "self-deportation."

Although he was born in Canada, his mother was born here and spent most her life here. Therefore, there appears to be no question that he was a citizen at birth, i.e. natural born, as opposed to naturalized. The Constitution does not say "native born", but "natural born", so Cruz, like McCain, probably qualifies, although I don't think SCOTUS has ever ruled on the question. BTW, even if Obama had been born in Kenya, the same would apply to him, so the birthers are most likely making asses out of themselves for no reason.

Are Jindal and Rubio eligible then? Born in the US but their parents at the time were not US Citizens.

He should not even be in the senate. Wait till the tea party finds out about this. What the fuck.

Seriously? Yes, they were born here and not made citizens of any other country.

Sorry, Cruz was born in Canada, admittedly, a friendly nation.

The Senate does not have the "natural born" requirement.

If all of them are radical, then none of them are.

Cruz is an entertainer, a celeb-politician in the vein of Pailin and Paul. They have little grasp of the facts, antagonize for the sake of antagonizing, and more interested in raising his profile than leading this country. Nothing more than a carnival attraction who will burn out and fade away.

Do you actually think that you can't be a citizen unless you are born here?

From the LA Times:
"Because he was born to an American mother, he’s a U.S. citizen, regardless of having a birthplace outside the country’s borders. But the issue of whether someone like him can also meet the requirements for the presidency has never been decided in court."

I don't want some foreigner with questionable loyalties in the senate. This is outrageous. Don't they check this stuff?

Oh yes, he's a secret undercover Canadian spy - that's it right there!

Your comments are just stupid. The fact that he is an embarrassment to the senate is not related to his being born in Canada. That being said, he is totally bat shit crazy.

Wingnuts need to take a class on sarcasm.

And the crazy train that is Ted Cruz continues to careen off the rails. A New Yorker article posted today reveals statements he made in a speech two and a half years ago at the "Defending the American Dream" conference (sponsored by Americans for Prosperity) in Austin, Texas. In the speech, he accused Harvard Law School of harboring a dozen Communists on its faculty when he studied there (he attended from 1992 until 1995). He also said that President Obama was "the most radical President ever to occupy the Oval Office".

McCarthy anyone?!?

If Republicans don't want to be viewed as out of touch with most Americans, they seriously should consider what people like Cruz do to the image of their party. He seems totally nuts and full of paranoid delusions regarding the activities and motivations of other people, especially people that have different opinions from his own.

Here is a link to the article:

If you are referring to the post right above yours (11:25), I am not a wingnut (I'm actually the OP). You can't fault me for not realizing that the post I was responding to was sarcasm. I thought it was a post from some even further right Tea Partier, which isn't an impossibility - and have you heard some of the totally outrageous, insane stuff they say?! Honestly, it has gotten to the point that statements from Fox News could easily be confused with an SNL sketch because they are that crazy.
