I thought the same thing. They both look so goofy. And none look like professional tennis players in terms of body type. I don’t think this looks very good. But I do like Zendaya.

Thank you! None look like pros but everyone on this thread only harped on the woman's body

Ok… I like their sprayed on Abs in the shirt open scenes. Other than that those two look like the hasty pudding SNL gang.

She is in a lot of teen-targeted stuff. I'd say she is the It Girl of teen vehicles that try to appeal to larger audiences.

Someone get this girl a cheeseburger

So it's okay for a black actress to play Anne Boleyn but not for an actress who doesn't have the right muscle tone to play a tennis player. Why?
Zendaya is half white (mom) and half black (dad). Divorced early on and Dad took her on the kid actress circuit.

Ironically both have always had eight problems and then there’s their kid Zendaya.
Eating problems? Her parents have eating problems?
Also: hasn’t she said the kid actor thing isn’t something she would repeat? Hasn’t she been critical of that?

Weight problems. Her parents are overweight, likely the obese category.

Don’t know what she said about doing Disney shows age 12+.
She caught the multicultural/ biracial wave well. Unclear how else she would have so easily broken in to HBO series or movies without the Disney show and acting experience/lessons there.

I used to be as thin as her. Some people are born that way. Maybe they should have cast someone different. But I don't think it's her fault.

Who cast this?

It’s distracting and too fake. She looks anorexic.

Maybe she’ll sell more tickets sure, but she’s a total lightweight to be playing an athlete. Should have done what the williams sister/will smith movie casting route - at least pick someone more believable as a tennis pro.

If you don’t buy Zendaya as a tennis player, you’re really going to hate an upcoming movie called “The Bigger They Are,” with Mary-Kate Olsen playing an American gal who moves to Japan to become a Sumo wrestler.

Now that sounds dumb.

And we used to watch Akebono matches during high school Japanese class in the mid 1990s.

We’ll find out in a couple years what was actually going on.

Either way she wanted hired for tennis she was hired for the nude make out scenes and flirty behavior.

This movie looks horrible and is only very marginally about tennis.

But the fact that this thread is full of a bunch of people body shaming Zendaya is ridiculous. She's a beautiful woman and is not "emaciated" (do you actually know what that means? She does not have the muscle tone or bulk of a professional athlete because, uh, she's not a professional athlete.

But people love an excuse to rip on a gorgeous thin woman, don't they?
