Seriously with the ribs? Is this the 1990s? |
This is what a tennis champion (challenger? Lol) actually looks like. |
Serena winning Wimbledon in 2003. |
So the guys are both gay and Jewish too? |
It's a Luca Guadagnino film. He's main stream art house. I mean, it's a gay man's depiction of a women's tennis player...so yeah. The budget for this at $55m is way too big for him.
He does more with less, imho. Call Me By Your Name and We Are Who We Are (HBO limited series) were fantastic. |
True. It’s clearly not a movie about athletes nor athletic feats, more about lust. They just need to look pretty. However she really does need to gain ten pounds and get some bloodwork done. |
And have chemistry |
It's rated R. Why would anyone think this is a movie for young kids? |
So it's okay for a black actress to play Anne Boleyn but not for an actress who doesn't have the right muscle tone to play a tennis player. Why? |
|
^Uh oh! |
Counterpoint: |
I will see this. It looks like fun. I hate that pink outfit Zendaya is wearing upthread, but she looks great in the film. |
It looks cute but she's gotten sooo skinny which is worrisome since she's already a very thing. |
