Ideas for a trip with a 6 month old

You are doing it for you. The kid won’t remember this at all. Go where it’s easy for you with all the baby gear. Watch out for baby getting sick.

We travelled a lot internationally before the baby and were ready to get back at it once baby gets its 6 month vaccines. She is an easy baby and a good sleeper. We went on a road trip a few weeks ago for the eclipse and while it took us a while to drive because of the stops, she handled the trip very well. Now we’re ready to fly somewhere. She has her passport. Any places that are fun/good for young babies? We’re not really all inclusive resort people but maybe that would be an easy first trip? Any suggestions?

My family is in Europe so I have experience traveling with infants even younger than yours. I would stay on the East Coast or Canada, plenty of beautiful places to visit even with a baby. I still remember the nightmare of my infants taking a full week to adjust to European time, meaning they were active and fussy from 10pm to 3-4am european time because they were still in US time while i was exhausted and really wanted to sleep. We were there to see the grandparents so i sucked it up but it was a nightmare and certainly not a vacation.

Does it need to be international? We started traveling again with a baby that age but first stuck to places 3-4 hours drive from us (NY, several beaches, national parks) and always used airbnbs with washer/dryers. We then started to branch out more about age 3.

The airplane bassinette no longer worked for our long 6 month old, but it was still great for the leg room. 6 month baby slept on boppy and that helped to give our arms a break.
