Wherever you want to go. But agree its easier to not have to swing a big time change so maybe save Europe for later. |
British Isles are easy |
I heard it’s fun to go to Mexico with babies because they love them there. Any experience with this? I love Mexico City but it might be too hard unless we just stayed in one neighborhood. |
Wherever you want! Just bring a baby carrier (I would not bother with a stroller). Seriously, this is an easy age to travel, and the baby doesn’t care where you go. And they can fly for free. Trips we took with infants include camping, beach, cities such as Boston and NYC, etc. We also went to Europe with a toddler & don’t regret it at all. |
Flying with a 6 month old is easy. Book the bulkhead seats at the front of the plane and some airlines have bassinets to attach to the wall. Just keep in mind it will not be a normal vacation you usually take. Just give yourself a lot of time and don't overbook the days. |
I think 6 months is a great time to travel. |
Mexico City is perfect. Plan to rent a place for a week, some condo buildings have kids play rooms, lots to see and do and very easy to navigate there. |
Babies are so easy to travel with- we started when ours was 2 months old- go anywhere you want! Ireland, Spain, France, Portugal- all have nonstop flights from this area - fly at night.
Also, if you take an overnight flight and you arrive in the wee hours of the morning, make sure you book yourself a hotel/rental for the night before , that way you can check in as soon as you arrive |
My advice is no matter where you choose, make sure you have some type of kitchen area and washer and dryer access plus maybe a suite or apartment. That way you can wash bottles, cook in at least one meal or day or if one of you gets sick. And babies require lots of clothes changing. Plus it will give you some space to move around without waking the baby. |
For the next few years the only places I would be traveling with that child are to visit a set of grandparents |
That is pretty sad. We have traveled a lot with out kids and I have never regretted any of them. Were they as relaxing as vacations pre-kids, no, but we still always enjoyed them. |
I second the suggestion for Scandinavia. We had great trips there with our kids when they were babies -- Sweden and Iceland in particular. |
Maybe Italy? Italians love kids and are very accommodating towards them. |
Iceland is not Scandinavia. |
Anywhere OP! Babies are resilient and will be just fine 😀 Prior to 1, we took our babies to CA, AZ, Norway and Chile- great memories! Happy planning!! |
