Our Savior Lutheran in Arlington, VA might have openings. |
Friends Community School in College Park may have openings. It is K-8 and has a nice group of families from the Hill who reverse commute. |
Not a Norwood person, but it's been said before - having a waitlist is not mutually exclusive with having a last-minute opening for a late applicant. We were a late applicant who jumped the waitlist elsewhere in a prior year. The late applicant child may fill a need the school otherwise can't fill in building the class. OP, all your friend can do is call around. Don't foreclose any schools based on this thread. |
Try Sheridan. The school is not fully enrolled. |
Lowell may have openings in some grades.
We are very happy there. Diverse leadership, great community. They really get to know the children and respect their ideas and interests. It’s a unique place. |
Agreed. This process can extend into the summer because it's hard to balance a class/grade in a small school. Some schools are super direct about that on their websites, others aren't. There's no reason not to call and ask – unless the school specifically says on their site that they can't consider late apps. |
Haha! |
I would check out St. Pats, Field and River. They’re pretty close together in / near the Palisades neighborhood of DC. I have no idea if they have spots though, sorry. They’re all $$$
River goes up to 5, St Pats up to 8, l think Field is 6-12. So some combo might work. |
OLGC in Vienna has a couple spots I believe in K and 2nd. We love it there! |
This. I know a couple of kids on the waitlist. |
Even if a school has a waitlist, they might just add a chair for the right out-of-area student. One never knows what Admissions will think. So call or email the Admissions at all schools of interest, even if everyone on DCUM says they are full. |
