PP poster again — I also know soooooo many variants of solitaire. My mother has in her older years largely switched over to sudoku but she never travelled without a pack of cards when I was young. |

It's sad when your partner did not play cards and has no interest in them. I miss playing! |
We mostly played Pitch, Hearts, and Poker.
We played Poker with my great grandmother and she taught us all kinds of variations and the dealer would decide which we would play each hand. We have taught our kids to play all the games, but for poker we mostly play Texas Hold ‘em with them. We like to play Nerts too. |
Wow, I’m my entire life, I’ve only met 2 other people outside of my family who knew Oh Hell. My mom learned in college in the 60s and taught her parents and siblings and it became the family game that has spread through generations |
Poker! |
Our family loves oh hell as well. |

Yes to spades, hearts, euchre, cribbage, gin, etc..
But none of my other midwestern folks have mentioned Sheep's Head which is the best game of them all. |
4-8 year olds love Golf. We play it a lot and kids can play as soon as they know their numbers.
7+ we love rummy 500. Dh and I can't wait to play spades when our kids are old enough (middle school?). |
Pitch (which we called hi lo jack game)
Rummy, gin rummy, 300 Hearts Spades Cribbage And bridge too—my grandma needed a 4th so I was always added. In college it was pinochle, cribbage, hearts, and spoons for bigger groups |
I also loved learning how many things are house rules—I always played nobs and muggins in cribbage but realized that muggins especially is kind of mean! |
