You’re talking apples to oranges. Of course parents and fathers help their children wipe themselves. |
Wow. Did you ever report this behavior to the administration and did they take any action? A teacher -- male or female -- locking themselves anywhere with a child (of whatever gender) seems Right Out, regardless of reason (sexual or not). |
As long as male pedos seek out positions in jobs and other activities that put them in proximity with their potential victims, which they definitely do, then it is wise to be ultra careful about who is interacting with your kids.
A bunch of anecdotes about how your kid's male teacher was so great does not prove anything. Also, it is quite common for people to go on about how great they thought someone was until they found out how horrible they really were. |
I thought for a moment that I’d been transported to the 1950s when I read this thread. |
The director very religious ran a Christian based center was aware of him locking himself in the restroom to “talk” to him because he was “anointed” and God called him to work with children. My old coworker told me the boys father came to the center a few months after I left and whipped the teacher to a pulp in the parking lot. |
I think this is so true. There was truly nothing wrong with our male daycare teacher in my eyes until we got the call from the child and family services investigator. Thankfully, the other teacher in the room with him spoke up right away when she saw some unsettling behavior. |
Yes, some of the best teachers I’ve seen with kids have been male. |
No, sorry. I know my bias unjustly victimises an innocent person in most cases here, but when it comes to my child, I don’t care.
I was a teacher in the UK where we were required to do a great deal of safeguarding training, and I will never forget a workshop where we were told that the majority of pedophiles are male. “Majority” does not mean all, but again, if there is even a slightly higher risk to my small child, I would remove the child or ask that she be moved to a female teacher. In my career, I did work directly with two men (separate occasions) who were removed from their teaching posts in unsavoury circumstances. I will do anything to prevent my child from being a victim. |
At our preschool, which has had only one male teacher in the 8 years I've been sending kids there, one of the female teachers was fired for leaving a kid on the playground and not realizing for over an hour. In late afternoon/winter when it was getting dark. Not being suited for the field is not inherently a male/female thing. The male teacher is great. He does teach the oldest ones who don't need much toileting help but he's rotated through all the rooms in his time there. |
That's swell. I'm still not comfortable with a male daycare teacher. |
why would you even care? if you dont mind a woman who is not realted or family or you didnt know help your child with toileting but not the fact that the person had a penis, then its on you. You wouldnt request a woman server at a restaurant or other service related industry why a preschool where she shouldnt be learning sexist ideals? |

oh but only non relations or non friends who happen to be women can help but not men? |
heres the thing though, the ones that are unreported are done by women rapists, sexual abusers etc. to have this ideal is not just sexist its scary |
