Anyone heard of this tragic incident

It was just on the news

I am sure the kid was bullied, went in and committed suicide. The only hope is that the bullies are held accountable.

Let's not jump to blaming others.

I am sure the kid had a great life and just decided to go into the bathroom and kill himself in the middle of the school day.

Not

Umm i was referencing bullying, not that he had a perfect life. People are very quick to blame a bully.

Are you the type of person who doesn't read an article but still has VERY strong opinions about it, anyway?

To wit:

"“We don’t believe there were any other children who were involved in this directly,” [MPS spokeswoman] Tofig said."

In the future, when you have the urge to post, suppress it. Thank you.

Ok let's not be heartless and crass.

You don't know the circumstances here. All we can say is that for a kid that young to be able to follow through with this, his head and life must have been one mangled mess.

NP. I'm sure that statement meant there were no other children involved in his actual death. I don't believe it's a statement about whether or not he was bullied.

What makes you sure? Why would you contradict the spokeswoman in this way? Do you have knowledge? I take it as face value, and find this mind-reading of yours to be utterly fascinating. Do tell.

It could be a lot of things

Untreated mental illness
Bullies
Shitty home life
Struggling so much that he couldn't see a way out.

It's not like those who jump in front of a train are committing suicide because of an issue with a train. It has to do with 1. Making sure they are Found/noticed and 2. Impacting others.

Let's not jump to conclusions that this kid was bullied

When the MCPS official spokesman says, immediately after the very sad event, “We don’t believe there were any other children who were involved in this directly,” you interpret this to mean that it is an established fact that no other children were involved at all? Why?

Occam's Razor, honey.

You seem to believe they would say something like that if it were not true. Why is that?

I am taking the statement at face value. When they say that no other children were involved in the child's death directly, I take that to mean that no other children were involved in the child's death directly. Not to mention that, just using common sense, they would not have had time yet to fully investigate whether any bullying had been going on.

Also, dial it back a notch.

Out of respect for the family involved, perhaps we should let this one go.
