Often they are the ones that stick. I am DH's third marriage and we've been married twenty years, very happily.

He was a widower who had a very short and painful second marriage -- a huge mistake brought on by grief that lasted about 6 months. We met a year later and have been together ever since.

My dad and stepmother are in his third marriage with circumstances very similar to PP's. Married 35 years to my mom, she died, rebounded too soon and married the wrong woman too fast, that lasted two years and then he married my stepmother a few years later. They are very, very happy - five years next month.
