NP here - I grew up in small town Pennsylvania and can confirm 100% that the support for Trump comes from small-mindedness, lack of vision, most people never went beyond high school and their interests are mainly just limited to sports and hunting, their world view mainly just comes from TV and movies.

If the people you're describing are hard-working, honest, and doing their best to take care of their families, your criticism of them reflects poorly on you, despite our "open-mindedness and vision."

Where it comes to choices of politicians and ideologies they certainly are NOT doing the best to take care of their families.

I have a few pals who are doctors who hate Obamacare. They would never cry if it were repealed.

I'd love to see NCLB go - or its newer version, ESSA.

People are tired of seeing so much waste.

And they will vote based on the last nasty encounter they had that day. So expect people to hide behind the screen and hit the Trump button. They may not tell you, but they'll do it and then lie to your face about it.

My husband likes Trump. At first he said he found Trump "amusing." But now he's out of the closet -- full Trump supporter. He says it's time to take back America. I won't let him get a yard sign or bumper sticker.

I have zero jealousy of Trump. Trump has gone bankrupt multiple times and basically his only business at this point is being a cartoon character on reality TV and whoring his name out for developers. He doesn't develop or own "Trump" hotels and establishments, he only gets a small cut. He isn't a self-made man, he inherited his wealth from his father, and in fact, had he just put his inheritance in an index fund he would be as rich or richer today than he has ever gotten himself through his so-called "business acumen."

There are plenty of true business leaders and visionaries for me to look up to, like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Larry Page / Sergey Brin. I don't need Trump.

I agree that trump doesn't really care about the average joe, but LOL if you think any politician does. Do you think HRC gives a fuck about the average joe? All politicians are self-aggrandizing liars. We all know that. But trump would be a much more effective leader than the alternatives.
