Mixed emotions. Glad he's out--worried about the message it sends.

I think it was a huge mistake.

Israel has been doing prisoner exchanges for years. If it was a huge mistake, they would have figured it out by now.

In some right winger's minds, anytime Obama does ANYTHING they consider it "breaking the law", because they don't consider him the President and don't think he should have any authority to do anything. Communist Kenyan usurper an' all.

'Murka, ain't we grand?

Huh? Since when is the legislature involved in the cases of individual prisoners?

Congress is to be given thirty days notice before the release of prisoner from Gtmo.

But Obama issued a signing statement effectively saying that he didn't like that provision and wasn't going to follow it.

Wait, didn't he basically campaign against Bush's use of signing statements. Oh Barry, governing is so hard.

My son is a soldier in the Army stationed abroad. Skyped with him last night. The first thing he said - he and the other soldiers are furious over this prisoner exchange. They do not view Bergdahl as a hero - he went AWOL and was captured. The fact that our enemy can capture one of our soldiers and exchange him for 5 of their killers is demoralizing to our soldiers. They also believe he should receive a dishonorable discharge, but he won’t. He will be hailed as a hero by the left.

Where is the evidence of this? I agree that this is a questionable exchange mostly based on the precedent that it sends for AWOL service members, but what info do you have to backup that the exchanged gitmo members were any real threat, or had anything to do with being "killers?"
