Republicants have been crying like babies that the White House hasn't dine enough to bring home the marine in Mexico. So he brings home this soldier and it's waaaaah he's endangered America.

Wonder how the families of those killed searching for him feel today.

Can you imagine what the family members of dead Iraq war veterans feel? Their sons and daughters died because someone wanted to save face for his daddy.

How about a "win" for Obama if he leaves the deserter in the hands of his Taliban friends and makes a more subtantial effort to get the guy who accidentally crossed into Mexico? They did it wrong with both guys.

We traded five bad guys for this goof ball? Good trade Mr. President.

Or you can keep harping on irrelevant race issues. Becuase in your mind that is the only reason a conservative could disagree with this president. Again, great analysis.

The prisoner exchange which brought back the only known American alive in Taliban custody did not get a ringing endorsement from the men who served with him in Afghanistan. While President Obama celebrated Bowe Bergdahl’s release with Bergdahl’s father in the Rose Garden, other soldiers lifted their voices in outrage over the high cost of the swap and called Bergdahl a deserter. Those protests have grown loud enough to grab the attention of CNN’s Jake Tapper:

The sense of pride expressed by officials of the Obama administration at the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is not shared by many of those who served with him — veterans and soldiers who call him a deserter whose “selfish act” ended up costing the lives of better men.

“I was pissed off then and I am even more so now with everything going on,” said former Sgt. Matt Vierkant, a member of Bergdahl’s platoon when he went missing on June 30, 2009. “Bowe Bergdahl deserted during a time of war and his fellow Americans lost their lives searching for him.”

Vierkant said Bergdahl needs to not only acknowledge his actions publicly but face a military trial for desertion under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Obama likes deserters more than patriots. It's win win for Obama. Reward deserters and release obamas terrorist friends. As long as it's bad for America , Obama does it . He hates America just like his father did .

Can someone explain this from the NYT article? If he went AWOL as claimed, why has he promoted by the Army twice since his capture? I don't get it. Where is the evidence he went AWOL?

"The latest evidence indicating that Sergeant Bergdahl, who was promoted twice while being held as a prisoner, was still alive came in January, when the American military obtained a video showing him alert but also apparently in declining health."
