Violence in Kindergarten- Sligo Creek Elementary

Plus PANDAS would be cured by that surgery.

One interesting item we heard was the kid in question had their tonsils out and is now behaving much better. I am hopeful that now the kid is on a much better trajectory. It sounds like they are getting the medical care needed.

Many people in the community and school seem to reacting positively and earnestly to this situation. I am hopeful we are seeing a positive trend.

It’s not ok to shame or out kids here.

You're out of line OP.

I get that this is a tricky topic but I don't see how OP was out of line? Did I miss something?

We're not zoned for SCES, but I personally know two former SCES kindergarteners whose parents pulled them this year.

Because it was a troll post. The last "update" from the OP made that clear.

The principal sounds like part of the problem.

Get a hold of the written policy. If she is not enforcing it, go over her head.

But you should also make plans to move out of that school.

Kids who are violent at that age probably come from troubled families, and will only get worse as they grow (sorry to say).

Didn't you see the update? It wasn't special needs or the parents. It was the tonsils.

Ban tonsils from MCPS!!!

Not OP but as a member of the community it is really frustrating to see this very real situation dismissed and denied. I know a child who was seriously hurt at the school this year. It seems pretty obvious from the thread that multiple posters corroborated the basic story. (No knowledge of OP’s most recent update.)

I don't deny there are real problems. But this story isn't one of them. Surely you know that given where the thread has gone. It is a disservice to the cause to make up or perpetuate obviously false stories.

No this is an annonomous forum. You have no idea if the same poster or more than one told the same story.

RW is coming for our schools. Fear Mongering and gas lighting is the way they do this. On social media we all know most of what we read is not true. You need to learn what are good sources.

Stories on DC Urban moms may or may not be true.

This one is a troll. How do you know you can check case search see who is suing the county, and don't you think if something really bad happened in a school some newspaper would run the story?

Example the recent Lakelands Park issue. WTOP and FOX both with drew their stories after they went out why because the person who reported the incident to them lied and had not facts. Yeah that is what we are dealing with. That same person did the same thing in 2017. 2020 and 2021. Every time they do it's debunked. Some people are loud. It is your job to figure out how to find facts.

Apart from the tonsils update, I have personal knowledge of many of the anecdotes on this thread (the water bottle being thrown at the para who needed stitches, kids getting concussion, a K teacher quitting on the spot). So no, I’m sorry to say this isn’t a fake.

Fair enough but who are you to deny this happened if you aren’t a member of the community?
