Has NPR lost America’s trust?

Do you agree with Uri Berliner’s view? Or is he wrong?

Yes trust is lost.
NPR went all blogger and lack of research OpEd.

No. I hate Fox News, it is a joke for the low-IQ viewer. NPR used to be wonderful and I was an enthusiastic listener. Now it's terrible woke BS. I would like the news, some analysis, and some entertaining yet smart human interest and self-improvement stories mixed in. Instead i tune in and hear something like, "abc ethnic group has been historically underrepresented in xyz setting. Let's dig into why". Relentless.

This is how I began feeling about NPR upwards of ten years ago. It was what you describe and also never ending migrant sob stories and white people are racist nonsense to browbeat flooding the West with migrants. All. Day. Every. Single. Day.

I feel the same way, and have stopped listening to NPR completely.

NPR is fine -- if you actually listen to it.

Nope, I am still listening to NPR on my way to work and on the way back. If you want perspective, listen to WMAL to hear what crazy and untrustworthy sounds like.

Still listening, but turn the channel when I'm not interested in the story. Or, when I'm driving to work every day between 8:40- 8:45 when they've started trying witty banter among the 2 female hosts. I have no interest and change the channel.

The editor, Uri Berliner, said NPR’s leaders had placed race and identity as “paramount in nearly every aspect of the workplace” — at the expense of diverse political viewpoints, and at the risk of losing its audience.

No shit. Anyone with ears knows this. Every. Single. Piece. They publish includes one of the following words "black, gay, trans, oppressed, minority, race, or identity"

It isn't about news coverage. It's about an agenda.

This is BS. I was listening this morning and not one piece about that. They were talking with people in China about the economy.

There was a period in 2021 or so after George Floyd when it felt this way. It was a huge social movement. When I felt myself getting annoyed, I took a breath and thought, for decades it's been all-white-all-the-time. It was a reckoning for us to have to listen to these stories and give them consideration. It is okay to be made uncomfortable sometimes. You can reflect. You might not change your mind. But it is good to listen to other perspectives.

Now a few years later, there are still some identity-based stories, but not nearly so many. Lots of coverage is just news of the day.

They've lost millions of listeners who disagree with you.

And yet, the staff at NPR think they are the best and get upset when people, like Uri Berliner, try to get them to consider the problems facing the organization.

Agree and I also am done with NPR.

It is ruined beyond repair.

Kinda hilarious many here don’t see that (or don’t want to see).

+1 The loss of 18 million listeners is so great that one poster didn't believe it. Of course, the NY Times was the source, so we assume that number is true.
