Hershey Park - Best time to go - cheapest time to go?

Does the Hershey Lodge ever have deals? The rack rate for summer is $359 for a 2 Queen hotel room - and that doesn't include tickets to the park. Can anyone provide info?

Don't stay at Hershey Lodge. There's a Country Inn and Suites in Hummelstown about a mile away, it's only a few years old and very nice. Stay there (or somewhere like there).

There are usually discount coupon codes online for park admission.

Best time to go...well, I'm not sure. We've never gone in the middle of summer, but always at the start or end. The most crowded we've ever seen it was at Christmas time.

Early in the season - May / June - but it can still be really hot.

Plenty of hotels within a few minute drive to Hershey so no need to stay at the Lodge.

Park is good for kids over 5 - younger kids go to Dutch Wonderland instead.

Yes, Hershey works well for kids through teens as there are 7-8 roller coasters, 10-11 yr olds who like rides will have a great time, those who are squeamish maybe not so much. As for hotels, there are lots nearby but book early as prices can be surprisingly high, particularly those that are very close but going 10-15 minutes away will save you lots and put you closer to restaurants.

Even kids who don't love the coasters will have a good time - there are TONS of different types of rides, there are shows, games, the zoo...and even the least adventurous rider of that age might like some of the gentler coasters. And there's the chocolate factory there also.

I recommend the Hershey Theater, it's a beautiful old building walking distance from the park and they have live shows (Broadway, the Wiggles etc.)
Last time we were in Hershey we decided we'd either do the Hotel Hershey, a quaint vacation rental in town near Fenicci's, or a farm b&b where the kids could feed baby animals.

Do you know of a Farm B&B near Hershey's?
