Can't get anyone at the Ross Center to give me the time of day.
Any other psychiatrist recs for a 5 year old trauma victim? Play therapist has recommended to see an MD for possible medical intervention. |
|
Were the Ross Center therapists booked? Usually they have colleagues to recommend if they are. (Don't know any one in this field, sorry.)
The Lourie Center has services for trauma, but I don't have any personal experience with them: https://www.adventisthealthcare.com/LC/programs/parent-child/ |

Call them. If you are in DC, they may be able to refer you to the right person. They specialize only in trauma and victim assistance. |

Ross center psychiatrists won't see her, and I already have a therapist for her.
Lorie Center is so booked up that they closed the waiting list
Am in DC, but it can't hurt to ask the MoCo folks. Thanks. If anyone else has a recommendation for a good child psychiatrist, feel free to chime in. Thanks. |
Is it a booking issue or are they refusing to see her as a patient at the Ross Center? The latter is really disconcerting, so I hope it's not that. |
| NP. Ross Center sucks. We were dismissed by them as a patient with nothing more than a list of recommendations for other therapists (all needing a car to get to which we did not own). |
They offered therapy, but we already have a therapist. They wouldn't give me an appointment with either of their MDs. |

Sorry, PP, here. I was slow on the uptake.
I called Ross regarding one of there Psychiatrists and he was booked for months but they did give me alternative names. This was a while ago and we ended up going a different route, but more importantly, it wasn't for trauma. So I can see where you'd want specific recs. Does your therapist have recommendations? Children's or Kennedy Krieger might have some options. I wish I could be of more help. |
