Yeah, she was a gorgeous woman in her heyday. Didn't age well, though, and that's before she got cancer. I loved her as a kid and wanted her hair so bad... I think we all did! I always felt her death was overshadowed by Michael Jackson's.

Agree with your last comment. Could she have been saved if she had decided to have surgery early on even if it meant she would have to wear a poop bag for the rest of her life?

Probably could have been saved if the HPV vaccine was created decades earlier.

Forgive me, but I've always wanted to know this and this thread got me thinking. So anal cancer can be caused by mutliple partners, HPV and "receptive anal intercourse" so that means the obvious, right? What a horrible way for a lovely lady to go. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anal_cancer

Not at all. She happened to die on the same day as someone wildly more famous than she was. The media attention was naturally skewed toward the more famous one, so there was little public reflection on her public image and impact as a result. Just kind of unfortunate for her. I bet most people barely realized she had passed away that day.

The picture in the original post isn't showing for me, but I always thought Farrah's face was a little too angular. Jaclyn Smith was the true beauty on that show.

If she died at her condo, she and MJ also died in the same neighborhood, within blocks of each other.

She didn't age well? I thought she did. The documentary about her illness and death was very moving. I think of her sometimes when I hear the rain. I think her son's doing better, in recovery and on probation per press reports.
