American girl doll of the year (2014)- DC resident

Anonymous
I thought this was interesting. Rumor has it that next year's doll lives in Georgetown and attends a charter school for the arts to study ballet. I'm wondering if the books will be really dc-centric and whether thy will film the movie here.

Grown ups care about this? Even my DD only looks at these dolls to make fun of them.

Really? Your disdain and cynicism is that infectious? How sad for your daughter.

Yuck. Why not make the doll more DC typical than privileged?

I find this a bit hard to believe as they've done so many contemporary girls lately. But maybe. Who knows.

Well, for one thing, they know their market. These dolls and their accessories go to privileged girls.

I know a mom like you. She is a hater and when her daughter was little she sucked all the fun out of her childhood. Now her daughter is an unhappy teenager and her childhood is over.

And they don't typically attend charter schools.
