American girl doll of the year (2014)- DC resident

Anonymous
how silly that everyone on here is "anonymous" and crapping all over what the other people say. If you dont care about a certain topic -- say nothing and go find another forum to comment in.

If i didnt care about model trains, i certainly wouldnt get on a model train topic comment thread and bash others for caring about model trains, i would simply click away.

and yes, i too am posting anonymously because i was looking for info on the AG GOTY 2014 and stumbled upon this forum and couldnt believe what mean spirited nonsense is on here.

another blonde doll. sigh.

We aren't doing American girl dolls because my DD just isn't into them and I am hoping to avoid getting sucked into the consumeristic vacuum. The accessories, the accessories! That's how they get you! But it's funny because DD dances ballet and is blonde and attends a DC public school - not a charter like this one that sounds more like a residential dance academy than a charter. Uh oh.

I am starting to think the American Girl are trolling mommy blogs - if their banner ads are popping up on your screen - I wonder if the meta data informs their marketing decisions.

the banner at the top may say "American Girl" but it is decidely NOT actual American Girl advertising. It is a fake out to get you to click on it and it will take you somewhere else on the web that is an imposter doll.

Where have you been for the past 10 years ? This IS who populates the District increasingly. Her family IS who now comprises a large percentage of dc's 600,000 residents.

It's not 1974 anymore. Or even 1991.

And you didn't say this outright, but I'll address is anyway:

A girl living in Georgetown taking ballet and attending charter school IS JUST AS VALID a subject as a girl living in the projects in Naylor Gardens who sporadically attends MLK ES and takes no lessons.

Not the PP you are addressing, but, yes, of course the reason why AGD chose the first and not the second is b/c the second would not sell as well.

Well, la di da for you. I suppose you live in a commune where you only have those things that are necessary for your existence. No? Then stuff your judgment over a DOLL.
