To the cranky old lady at the gym

Anonymous
I was the mom trying to shower in the next stall while my son screamed his head off sitting on the bench right outside my stall. My apologies if he ruined your "showering at the gym experience".

Popping your head out and yelling "Calm down kiddo, I bet your mom is almost done" in a condescending tone didn't help as you saw since he became hysteric after your attempt to shame me. He's ONE he doesn't understand!!!!

Yes, I called the manager, told him that people like you are the reason why people like me are flakes at the gym. It was my first day after being out for 3 months due to my sons surgery and recovery and we're having a hard time readjusting.

Thanks for ruining my day!

Funny since I just read this article last night...

Yo mama, calm down! Why didn't you just put your son in the gym daycare or leave him at home? I think you're the one being hysterical and unreasonable here.

Do I understand correctly?

1. DS was screaming his head off while you showered.
2. An "old lady" put her head out and tried to calm him down.
3. You complained to the manager.

You called the manager on the lady?!

OP, you are the crazy one here. Good grief.

Why the hell weren't you watching your kid?

You left your one year old on a bench outside your stall while you showered? That lady was probably making sure he didn't wander off.

I try really hard not to judge other moms, OP, but this sounds unsafe.

Wow OP, gladly piling on here. You were wrong. Wrong wrong wrong from top to bottom. What a bitch you are.

Jesus, OP, you sound like a real a-hole. Who leaves a one-year-old screaming in the gym locker room so she can have a shower? And then complain to the manager about others? You sound sick.

OP, you are unwell if you think you were in the right. Please tell us what gym you go to, so we can avoid your hysterics. Your son may be one, but you as an adult should know better than to blame others for your child's crying, and further, call MANAGEMENT on others. This is not ok.

Why don't you shower at home, weirdo?

He can only be there one hour per day. I took him after my 55minutes class because I wanted to nurse him before the showers got full. He was there 3 feet from me getting sprayed by the water from my shower which was OPEN!!!

She didn't try to calm him. She was being condescending. She puffed and made noises before saying something.

He had my phone in a ziplock bag and played with it while crying.

No I'm not crazy. I'd be crazy if I left him alone at home like the stupid PP suggested. Who in their right mind leaves a toddler alone at home to work out??????

Wait a minute. You called "management" on someone, but you were showering with the curtain/door open?!? Why not just leave him in the daycare area while you shower? Let me guess - you sit your toddler by the elliptical while you workout, right?

OP, yes, you are completely crazy. Pinecone mom, you've been replaced by Shower Mom.

Where does it say to leave him home alone?

I'm not sure it's possible to be condescending to a 1-year-old.

OP, you really are a head case. Sorry, but it's the truth.
