The Instagram account currently shows 6 Harvard-bound students. That’s great, so there’s no need (or way) to lie. Settle down.

Sure, great result. Now, just as for any other school, how many of those were hooked in some way ? There is no way to know really, but (again) for any school, I very strongly would doubt that more than 1 unhooked student was accepted to Harvard.

On a real note, I hope you parents will be as spirited as you are on here, at games and not show up like it’s a waste of time. 👀 Brownie points to the most decked out, fan gear wearing, creative school chanting parent section 😂

Lots of different factors should be taken into consideration such as: how long the institution has been established, notability, matriculation, sports merit, alumni, interactions with students and even scandals/rumors. With all of that being said Sidwell has been #1 for some time. Sidwell, prestige prestige prestige. Sidwell could have sent no students to ivies this year and many people would find excuses for the school. I think the fact that many politicians have sent their kids there also play a big role. Typically if any out of state people know about a private school in the dmv it’s, you guessed it Sidwell. Enough about them, here is thee list below!

1. Sidwell
2. Cathedral schools: NCS/STA
3. GDS
4. Maret
5. Potomac
6. Holton and Landon
7. Bullis
8. Maderia
9. WIS
10. St Andrews

Honorable mentions: Episcopal, St Stephens and Sandy Springs. BIS needs to marinate for another 3 decades.

Nonsense. With the exception Sidwell, no one outside of the DC area knows these schools. If we’re going by name recognition, Dematha and Stone Ridge are much more well known due to sports than many of these others. Dematha for basketball and Stone Ridge for swimming. And of course Prep for Supreme Court. No one outside of DC reads Washingtonian or any of those lists ranking dc private schools, but people all over know these 3 (plus Sidwell for obvious reasons).

Did you really try to sneak in Dematha?! Go to bed. Considering ALL factors not only sports, also MATRICULATION and prestige(different than notability) OP is right. Maybe SR could take St Andrews place?

PP mentioned the school being well known outside of DC. Dematha’s top of the list based on that criteria, probably more than Sidwell. There are countless documentaries about Dematha. Are there any about any of these other schools?!! Like I said, most of these schools are known inside the beltway only. They’re not nationwide.
