"Should be strictly enforced" is moot at this point. What do you do with kids who came in illegally because of their parents and have lived their entire life in the USA. that is the question DACA tries to answer. Maybe if the native Americans were just as ruthless as some of you then they would have not only lived but you would have been in Europe. |
pp here. I'm referring to strict enforcement from here on out--we wouldn't have this situation if it weren't for lax enforcement over the years. |
I don't pretend to know what the answer is but I do know that every time our government grants some type of amnesty to illegal immigrants it encourages more to come. Enforcing the law is not moot and at some point has to happen. |
Well, he booted Hillary pretty badly so much so that she spent the weeks after the election hiking aimlessly in the woods near her house. |
Exactly and what is more is that if the pro-amnesty crowd would agree to limit it to just DACA kids, it would likely pass as long as they agreed that anyone not part of DACA would be subject to deportation and sanctuary cities should be done away with. But instead the push is to legalize everyone here illegally and therefore it results even those who are deserving - such as the DACA kids - to be impacted adversely. |
No, it probably never will happen as you desire. We can and do bend the curve, but we will never "perfectly" enforce our laws. |
Even this is an unrealistic fantasy. Charging employers would discourage undocumented workers even more than a poor economy does. It wouldn't curb it entirely though. |
This isn't a white supremacist agenda. We have our own people to spend our money on and that includes all races. Should we also just give 10's of thousands of dollars to illegals [over 600,000] who parked themselves in Houston? |
Seems like many do. Provided, of course, the immigrants don't move to their lily white enclaves or crowd their "great" schools. |
DP... so realistically, right now there are probably thousands of illegal immigrants in TX who have been affected by Harvey. Are you suggesting that we check everyone's legal status before offering them shelter and food? I don't even think you have to be a Christian to realize how inhumane that is. What happened to R being a party of Christian beliefs, which includes helping the unfortunate. Does the Bible say to first check that the person hasn't broken any laws before lending a helping hand? When I turned 18 decades ago I registered as a R in part because it was known as the party of "Christian ideals". Now that I am much older and I think a bit wiser, I now see that it's now a party of "Christian beliefs" in name only and not in action or deeds; it's about making sure everyone is like "them", and controlling how they live and love. And it's definitely now a party about greed and love of money over doing what is right even if it means you might have higher taxes. I have left that party. |
| I am I the only one who thinks the timing of this "announcement" sucks? An American city with a Latino population above 40% is underwater for God's sake. This could not have waited until next week. |
Please give link to the announcement. |

Fair recommendation:
Let them stay. Do not allow them to implement the "daisy chain". In other words, family members do not get preference. |
Above 40% Latino population: and yet the republican dominated Cajun navy is rescuing any and all victims; the "monster truck" brigade has arrived to volunteer (gee- how many liberal elitists own monster trucks or even go to monster truck jams?). Hillary, the DNC, and now the liberal dominated press have tired to paint people like the volunteers as racists and deplorable. But the rush to help Houston proves otherwise. |
ALL of the volunteers in Houston and other places should be commended and praised for their selflessness. God bless ALL of them! But that does not have anything to do with the WH's tone deafness on the issue. |
