Yep. Per WaPo, they are open on time.

Agree that it is the reality.

Believe that it is absurd.

My son had the belief, at 3yo, that snow on the ground meant per se no school/daycare. I hate that. I hate that we are raising a generation with the belief that they cannot deal with a little snow, ice, or cold. That they must cancel everything and huddle at home. Is this how we want them to live?

If you do not want your son to live that way, there is something you can do about it that is less complicated than overhauling reality.

My kid is going to school (MCPS). It's the last week before finals. He's got a test. The school day is entirely inside in a heated building.

I am also glad my kids are going. I will likely drive them to the bus stop just in case it is late..other than that I have no concerns.

Very well said. Wait until the helicopter types get on here. There will be a flood of complaints.

That's your kid. Not all kids. Thank your lucky stars.

MCPS wants smart parents or stupid parents that follow bad decisions like drones?

I hope my kids go to school! I'm going to work and I will turn the heat down at home and save some money .

Why? Schools are heated.

not if you're in a portable

or have to walk to one

The HVAC in portables is inconsistent at best. And while middle and high school kids may be able to handle it, little one won't.

Hopefully, people w/o cars will find a way to get their walkers to school.
