Genes
Melanin (I guarantee pp is not Irish or British)
No smoking no or ever, probably
Sun avoidance in youth (unless she's black or v dark skinned)

All the egg whites and coconuts in the world can't correct or even improve damage done by sunscreen-free lifeguarding as a teen; a college spent smoking marlboro lights; and being 100% Irish.

Yes, all that drinking, smoking and fun in the sun during my younger years has taken it's toll on my fair skin. But moisturizer and diet make a huge difference now. I don't even want to consider what I'd look like now if I hadn't changed out those bad habits for good ones...(shudder).

I'd never give up the laying out in the sun as a teenager or heavy drinking as a 20 something for a little bit better skin in my 40s. YOLO!

Me: drinking, yes; laying out, no -- people knew about skin cancer even in the 80s; you can be part Irish and still have good skin into your late 40s with care, as long as you use your sunscreen and don't go out in full sun from 10-2

Here's a quick cheap mask: mash half an avocado with 2 Tblsp on honey and 1 Tblsp olive oil. Cover your face and neck and rinse off gently after 10-20 mins.

Repeat with other half of avocado/honey/oil mixture on your hair for the same amount of time.

Do that once weekly and you're hair and skin look fine!

I post this saying I do not sell this, I don't have a stake in this company and I haven't tried it myself.
My friend has used this and had amazing results. She and I both have just turned 38 and honestly she looked more than ten years older than me. I've always looked young and she's always looked older. I was carded until I was 30 and she could buy beer in high school. Now, she still has more wrinkles, but we look much closer in age.

Antioxidants... lots. Drink green tea like it's going out of style (go with decaffeinated). Eat lots of leafy greens and big doses of broccoli. I'll never understand how women fall for the topical solutions. You do it from the inside out. Of course, to prevent further sun damage, wear sunscreen. Otherwise, a positive attitude and antioxidant packed diet will do you good.

Whole Foods or Amazon (probably other places but I know those two have it).

Skin aging

Start taking a light selenium dose (100mcg) per day

Find a good Hydrolyzed Collegen (Great lakes makes god ones)

Neo cell Collegen types 1 and 3

Whole food Vitamin C (camu camu or acerola cherry)

Ascorbic Acid, take with Real food containing vitamin C

Get a healthy oil supplement, that is higher in omega 3 (EPA)

Start taking GLA supplements

some glucosamine, and some Glutamate(?) (Whatever the persecutor to Glutione, the bodies master anti oxidant is)

Drink lots of purified water, and get a mineral drop supplement

Avoid added sugars

Get yourself some Kefir grains and start making your own super probiotics, and some kumbacha tea.

For Exteral uses

Super gentle facewash (spectro jel)

Good moisturizer (CeraVe skin lotion or creme depending on severity of dry skin)

Hyaluronic acid pure mixed with vitamic C crystals (pure ascorbic acid crstals) Yes - you will have to mix them yourself, buying premixed might not be as good.

In 6 months you wil look at least a little younger than you do today, i'll almost guarantee it

Happened to me at exactly the same age. I went from looking about 5 years younger than my age to...not. It was the smile lines. Not that surprising with my English/Irish/Scottish skin, I suppose, but a bummer nonetheless.

I recommend Perricone's 4 day face lift. It really works! And if you can stick with a clean diet, the results will stay with you.
