Did you folks even read Scott's response to this? Read and get the facts before you fly off on your witch hunt. |
Read it. It did not address my concerns. NP here. |
OP here: Today is the last day to submit public comments to the DCPCSB on this issue. I also recommend that you CC David Catania and your councilperson on your comments so that there is the possibility of there being some follow-up to your comments.
Comments to the Board can be sent here: dcpublic@dcpcsb.org As a reminder, as you can see at this link, this initiative has been in the works since 2011, but parents were not part of the planning task forces. Our comments have been left until the end and DCPSCB is planning to roll out the initiative in November of 2013. http://pcsb-pmf.wikispaces.com/Early+Childhood+Task+Force Thanks |
INSANITY. |
So let me see if I got this right. We want free universal PK3/4 which was originally designed to ensure kids would start K prepared but has become an entitlement for all (including middle and upper folks). The universal PK3 saves the average family $10,000-$30,000 in daycare or private school expenses for 2-2.5 years. However, we don't want to be able to track or measure these kids' growth or the school's ability to prepare these kids for elementary.
Is that about right? |
